Redesigning the Story Page
If you log into the game today, you’ll see that the story page has had a bit of a facelift.
First up, quality requirements on storylets and opportunities now have their own little icons. The heart of the story pacing in Echo Bazaar is the virtuous circle of quality unlocks - get stuff, unlock stories, get more stuff, unlock more stories. As stories got more complex, it could be hard to see and remember what you wanted. So we've made this system cleaner, simpler, and obvious - part of our ongoing cleanup of the economy.
We’ve also gotten rid of the gradients on storylet boxes, which should make them easier to read. Echo Bazaar takes place largely in the imagination of the player, so we don't want anything interrupting that line of communication.
Finally, we've made storylet icons a bit smaller, which just means you can get a few more on the page. Let us know how you get on feedback@failbettergames.com !
