Just as we thought we had all the server issues sorted... we had a whole series of unrelated miseries. I'll talk about the things that we've fixed, and then I'll talk about some wee goodies we're giving out.

- DNS issues that prevented a minority of users getting to the site at all. One of our lovely players helped us realise this was down to an issue with one of our provider's nameservers. which finally is now fixed. I've learnt a lot more than I ever wanted to know about DNS in the last 48 hours.

- Facebook introduced a bug into their authentication stuff - the source of the 'bootloader_zvucx' error you may have seen on EBZ and other sites. (If you're still getting it, clear your cache.)

- We briefly allowed an easy exploit to get unlimited actions in yesterday's patch. Oops, my. We took the site down for a bit to fix it. Many thanks to all the folk who pointed this out

- We had a godawful server problem last night where the site was slow and spitting out 503 errors like an ill-mannered child spitting pomegranate seeds. I've removed the culprit, some framework tech which seems more beta than it should have been, hm.

Anyway. Thanks for your patience. All this should now be resolved, but we want to give something back.

One. Everyone who had an active extra candle this week will get a five-day extension (a day more than the DNS outage covered). We thought about finding a way to give it to just people affected by the issues, but we don't want to be penny-pinching.

Two. We're extending the Feast of the Exceptional Rose by a few days (it was due to end on the 14th), because we know not everyone's seen it thanks to outages.
