Explorers' Beta v 0.1.3 Coming Soon
Hello all. We've been collating all the high quality feedback, bug reports and suggestions from our beta testers - about three hundred items in all - and we're working on the next version. You can expect...
- retooled Hunger - less rapid, and proportional to your Crew
- retooled Fuel and engines - more speed from different engines, pricier fuel, some Chief Engineers able to tune engines
- a Peculiar Noises effect from stressing your engines
- retooled Terror - better visibility on dark vs light, and an experimental approach to Terror increase
- more game effects from missing Crew
- retooled beastie spawning. Players are asking plaintively 'where does everything go?' It's not working as intended - we'll fix it.
- a great many bug fixes and incremental improvements.
New story content will continue to pop before, during and after the patch.
And we'll be adding a Check for New Content button to the main menu. Currently, the only way to get new content is to start a new game. This was because we were worried about breaking changes with saved games. But people want it; most changes won't be breaking; we can generally provide backwards compatibility; and where we do need breaking changes in beta, we can flag it. So from 0.1.3, we hope to be able just to allow you to update content and continue with your game.
The patch should drop late next week. On Thursday 15th next week, we're also launching our Greenlight campaign. We enjoin you to prime the voting cannons!
