Patch V0.4.2.1355 - patch notes

Here's our last feature-update before the Steam release!
  • Content

    • Several ports now have different and exotic goods. Most ports will now only sell specific exports. (A last-minute hitch has kept Khan's Heart closed for now.)

    • Everything in the recent updates list comes bundled with this.

    • There is a very striking new area to discover, although it is currently completely content-free.
  • Survival

    • Leaving the safety of the shore or lights now prompts your ship’s running lights to brighten, giving you a clear indication of when Terror will be rising. Moving back into safety will turn these off.

    • Terror gain and cooldown have been adjusted.

    • Terror music kicks in when terror is above 90 rather than 75.

  • Story interface

    • The Locale page has now been incorporated into the Story page. It wasn't pulling its weight

    • Stories now have a ‘Perhaps Not’ button, which will return you to the Story page.

    • When you're in port, instead of closing the gazetteer, the button at the bottom of a story result page will return you to the Story page.

    • The result page now has a horizontal line separating content you have already seen from new content.

    • Stories that demand your attention will glow briefly when you first get them.

    • Certain categories of story are now colour-coded and do other fancy things. You'll know it when you hear it.

  • System

    • The game now checks for updates when you first start the game and will will let you know if there are new stories available.

    • Setting the resolution on the options screen should now work correctly.

    • Setting windowed mode on should work as expected now.

    • Use of screen effects at Adequate quality settings should now be properly prevented, circumventing the black screen issue experienced by some players.
