Pledge Rewards updated!
Hi folks. First of all, thanks very much for your feedback on our pledge rewards for the Sunless Sea Kickstarter, it was invaluable. It's also incredibly heartening to see so many of you pledging to support Sunless Sea at any level. The main issues you've highlighted:
-Quite a few backers wanted access to all the exclusive Sunless Sea and Fallen London content, but were less concerned with premium options like naming islands or designing monsters.
-Some people just wanted the opportunity to pledge a small amount to show support.
-A few people felt that physical rewards should be available to lower pledge levels.
-Several backers have enquired about gifting, or customising their pledges to include only the rewards that they want.
So, with those points in mind, we're making the following changes:
1. We're reducing the price of the Navigator's Pack from £100 to £80 and removing the option to name your own island from that pledge level. This means the Navigator tier is now all about the content: the Cladery Heart in-game ship and associated Fallen London storyline, the Parabolan Panther pet, the Museum of Mistakes, the Pirate Poet, and so on. So effectively, you get all the exclusive content that we're creating for the Kickstarter, but not the input into the final game.
2. However, for those of you who desire - nay, demand - immortality, we're adding a new tier at £100: the Pathfinder's Pack. This gives you everything in the Navigator's Pack, plus you get to donate your name to an Unterzee Island.
3. We've added a base-level £1 pledge - the Able Seaman. This nets you a mention in the credits and our eternal gratitude.
4. We're looking at the feasibility of producing a physical poster of the Unterzee map for mid-level backers and up.
5. We're also looking at add-ons - an approach used by some KS creators to let backers customise their pledges or gift to their friends. We're worried, though, that the way add-ons work might be confusing to backers who aren't familiar with Kickstarter conventions. Any suggestions about good ways to explain or illuminate the process are very welcome!
