THE FUTURE gives creators a significant new tool, and also adds metaqualities to StoryNexus.

Metaqualities are discussed here - but in short, they're qualities attached to a StoryNexus account, not just a character. This means one StoryNexus world can give them out, and another can respond to them by offering different starting positions. We'll strictly control what metaqualities can be given out, but anyone will be able to make worlds respond to existing ones... when the tools are available. That's for a later release, though - for now we're just adding them to the mix, so that we can give them out in the Silver Tree, as we promised in a Kickstarter stretch goal.

The new tool I mentioned above, though, is something else: access codes. You'll be able to create unique URLs that apply a quality change when someone visits them. You can make them one-use or infinite-use; you can make them apply to existing characters, to new characters or both. This allows you to - for instance -

provide a promotional link from your blog to your world, to give away something interesting
provide an easy way to allow playtesters to preview new content locked away behind a quality requirement
provide a link for an ARG, transmedia story or just a tabletop RPG that opens a new storyline to anyone who solves a puzzle
all kinds of stuff we haven't thought of
